Community Spotlight: A conversation with digital creator, musician, and show promoter Kira Bravo.

Today, we're happy to share with you our conversation with digital creator, musician, and show promoter Kira Bravo.
We wanted to get to know a little bit more about who she is, how she got into her field, and where she's going on her business journey. Here's how it went:

Thanks for taking the time to chat with us Kira! We're excited to have you as our next feature and learn more about you as a creative. Let's start this off with you sharing exactly what it was that initially drew you to your craft, and how has your journey unfolded since then?
Kira Bravo: I've always been singing and dancing for my family ever since I was little. I always loved drawing and making little fashion shows in my living room. My journey definitely has transitioned from my living room to curating fashion shows and events for the public. I never really thought I would be able to do the things that I am currently doing.

Can you share some insights into your creative process? Where do you find inspiration, and how do you translate that into your work?
Kira Bravo: I found inspiration by going to museums or seeing what my peers are doing and it keeps me motivated to continue creating. It really happens when I'm at museums though, because it allows me to escape for a bit and I feel like I always have a new perspective after.

What projects are you currently working on, and what excites you the most about them?
Kira Bravo: I'm currently working on a single and planning future events for later this year and the next. I am really excited about throwing more events because although it is a lot of work, the result is always great giving other artists a platform.

Looking back on your career so far, what would you consider to be your proudest achievement or most memorable moment?
Kira Bravo: I think putting on an all femme show where we had a great turn out and that allowed me to pay my artists. That is the best feeling ever, getting paid and paying other artists for their work.

How do you navigate challenges and setbacks in your field, and what advice would you give to aspiring creatives facing similar obstacles?
Kira Bravo: I'm a very sensitive person and I have a lot of obstacles facing me. One being femme, people in the industry don't take you seriously. I feel like now that I am pregnant and about to have my first baby, people definitely think/say that my career is over etc. People are very discouraging, and you have to be your biggest fan and supporter. What I do is try to keep to myself and recenter. People are always going to have something to say to you/about you and that's just how life is. Whatever they say just keep doing what you're doing because ultimately it is your life, and most people project their insecurities on you when they see you doing and accomplishing things.

In an industry constantly evolving, how do you stay innovative and relevant while maintaining your unique voice/style?
Kira Bravo: I don't pay attention to trends. What I mean by that is I do acknowledge them, but that's it. My voice and style are just what comes from me and that's something people seem to struggle with is finding out who they are as an artist. It's like when Billie Eilish first came out, every single person started whisper singing and playing ukulele (me included). But once you realize that it is okay to be yourself, that alone influences, then I think being innovative and "relevant" comes naturally.

What do you hope audiences or consumers take away from your work, and what impact do you aspire to make in your industry?
Kira Bravo: I hope that people are moved in some shape or form by my music. My fashion to encourage people to dress expressively without judgement, and to find new artists through events.

Lastly, what message or piece of wisdom would you like to share with your fans, or anyone inspired by your journey?
Kira Bravo: Life is too short to not do what you love, so don't let those who are insecure about themselves ruin it for you.

Kira, we thank you again for giving us the chance to get to know more about you. Now, the floor is yours, share with us the links people can use to find more of your work, as well as any special announcements or projects you have coming up in the near future!
